Pi NoIR High-Definition Infrared-sensitive video camera for Raspberry Pi Model A or B.
Omnivision 5647 sensor in a fixed-focus module without infrared blocking filter
5MPixel sensor
Still picture resolution: 2592 x 1944
Max video resolution: 1080p
Max frame rate: 30fps @ 1080p
Size: 20 x 25 x 10mm
Connection by flat ribbon cable to 15-pin MIPI Camera Serial Interface (CSI) connector S5 on Raspberry Pi computer board
Applications
Infragrams: Check on plant health. http://publiclab.org/wiki/near-infrared-camera
Astrophotography: improved sensitivity to hydrogen-alpha light for better pictures of red-emission nebulae
Night security: Keep watch for burglars without disturbing neighbours (Requires IR illumination, see Note)
Wildlife photography: Watch animals at night with a remote camera (Requires IR illumination)
Note
The
Pi NoIR camera is sensitive to short-wavelength IR radiation (around
880nm) produced by infrared emitting LEDs. It is not sensitive to
long-wavelength IR radiation (heat) so requires a LED 'illuminator' to
see in the dark.
Supplied with
Blue filter for making an Infragram.
